New ring from Urban Outfitters. Not sure how long it will stay gold for £8! Love the style of it so will enjoy for now. I've found lots of nice real gold and silver fine rings on Etsy so think I'll order one of them soon.

Dr Martens launch party
Sunday, 16 June 2013
Last Wednesday I was invited to the opening of the new Dr Martens store on Brighton's Prince Albert Street. It was a great evening! Myself and Style Memos contributor Emily Sneyd entered to find a buzzing atmosphere with Tuaca & ginger beer, live DJ and shoe customisation for making your newly purchased DMs individual to you. I wasn't aware that they did clothing and accessories as well as shoes and there were plenty of both to peruse. I particularly liked the tie die shirt and leather sleeved bomber jacket, but settled in the end on a Dr Martens sturdy leather shopper that I haven't stopped using since! Oh, and the kids range - so cute!
After some fun in the store, we then headed across the road to The Mesmerist bar for more drinks, Boho Gelato chocolate & Liquorice ice cream and live music.
Don't forget to enter the Dr Martens street style competition for your chance to win £300 worth of DM products. More details here.

I ♥ neon orange
Wednesday, 12 June 2013
I've been loving my new neon nail varnish so much recently it spurred me on to get cracking with that neon + plywood project I been wanting to do. Very happy with the result! Most of my home surfaces or accessories are grey, white, black or wood which provide a great canvas for the neon to glow.
And can I just say how lush is my new Kirsten Goss ring?! I won it! Via the fabulous Natalie Hartley's blog which you must check out if you haven't already. Loads of great trend lead posts and styling tips from the InStyle fashion editor herself. Stop by Kirsten's website too- so many covetable pieces...

Dr. Martens Brighton Street Style Icon
Tuesday, 11 June 2013
Dr Martens are coming to Brighton! Technically they're already here adorning many feet across the city, but it's the new store opening on Prince Albert Street that is causing some excitement.
With the store opening during Brighton's most fashionable week (Brighton Fashion Week 2013 starts this Thursday) the brand are very appropriately marking the occasion with a street style competition which runs until 12th July. Whatever your style, you're invited to express your individuality and show off your best look accessorised with your very own pair own DMs.
The competition will be judged by Brighton Fashion Week founder Liz Bishop and the winner will receive £300 worth of shoes, accessories and clothing.
You can enter the competition by:
• Sharing your DM style photo on Twitter or Instagram using #DRMARTENSSTYLE and #DRMARTENSBRIGHTON
• Submitting a photo from the Dr. Martens photo booth in Jubilee Square on June 15 (part of People’s Day, Fashion Zone)
• Being photographed by one of DM’s style hunters on the streets of Brighton between now and 12th July
If you're the lucky winner you'll find out on 18th July via Twitter or on the Dr. Martens Facebook so keep a look out!
The new Dr. Martens store is located at 15b Prince Albert Street, Brighton and opens 12th June.
Competition Details
Brighton’s DM Street Style Icon competition runs from 28 May to 12 July 2013. Brighton Fashion Week will judge the competition and the winner will be announced on 18 July. Anyone in Brighton (visitors and residents) can upload their own style photograph, wearing a pairing of Dr. Martens, on Twitter and Instagram using #drmartensstyle and #DRMARTENSBRIGHTON. Style scouts from Dr. Martens will also be on the streets for the next two months snapping style icons in a pair of DMs. The winner will receive £300 worth of vouchers to spend on any boots, shoes, clothes or accessories in the new DM Brighton Store in Prince Albert Street to be redeemed by 31 December, 2013.

Brighton Fashion Week 2013!
Monday, 10 June 2013
Post by Style Memos contributor Emily Sneyd
This is it guys, Brighton Fashion Week 2013 kicks off this week and I
can barely contain my excitement. After a steady stream of successes, BFW
continues to grow in stature – the fashion is always as innovative and eclectic
as Brighton is and it's a great week for new and emerging designers to cut
their teeth on the catwalks and get propelled forwards into the wider fashion
industry.
This year, St Bartholemews, a gorgeous neo-gothic church in the centre
of Brighton, is the runway venue and will provide a stunning and atmospheric
backdrop for the three catwalk shows.
The Zeitgeist returns as the headliner show and is my personal fave for
showcasing the more avant-garde collections. Originality and impeccable
tailoring are the perfect combo. Having had a good snoop at the lineup, the
designer I'm most keen to see is Aimee Matthew-John. She's a central St
Martins' grad with some time put in at Acne studios (LOVE) and she's debuting
at BFW with a women's-wear collection based on embellished men's suits with some
cool twists.
I'm also excited to check out Major London 05. Designer Nav Bains is showing a collection using colourful eccentric prints
that take inspiration from 90s hip hop trends. It all looks extremely wearable
and especially perfect for summer.

I'm also hoping that I'll be sitting near
enough to the runway that I can sneakily swipe some Belles Bejewelled jewellery
straight off the models as they strut past – Rebecca Pearson's laser-cut
statement pieces look wonderful.

After Brighton-based Jess Eaton's standing ovation last year for her
'Roadkill Couture' collection, she is returning to the Zeitgeist this year with
her new collection 'AIR', using recycled parachutes. My mind was blown last
year so I'm very intrigued to see what she's been up to.
And if we're not too exhausted after that, we have two new shows to
look forward to this year! 'Sustain' is solely dedicated to showing sustainable
and ethical fashion – my eyes will be on Rebecca Jayne Taylor with her
high-fashion sportswear collection. And the final catwalk, 'Showreel', will
present some of the best in costume design from stage and screen. Although I'm
not as wired for this one as the other two, my interest has been piqued by
Sarina Poppy and her 1920's femme fatale offerings – I'm still caught up in a
romance with 1920's stylings since seeing Gatsby.
It’s also worth noting that with all the fashion aficionados flocking
to Brighton this week, there is sure to be some cool street style to gawk at
while out and about. Now, what do I wear!?

Ancient Greek Sandals
Tuesday, 28 May 2013
This fabulous brand first came to my attention on the lovely Evangelie's blog Style Heroine. She was wearing the winged Nephele - shown 2nd down, which quite frankly are the best sandals I've ever seen. Fear not though, if these are a bit too much for you, there are plenty of tamer styles on the Ancient Greek Sandals site, most of which feature the cute winged buckle which isn't just a pretty finishing touch by the way (more about that here). Iphigenia (shown top) are a favourite of the stylish Michelle Williams and I think my sandal of choice this summer. If the sun decides to come out and stay out that is...
